What sort of things will I learn when I begin learning guitar?
- You will learn to play songs on guitar.
- I will teach you to tune your guitar both manually and with an electronic tuner.
- You will be able to name the open guitar strings.
- You will learn basic guitar chords including major, minor, 7th and more.
- I will teach you how to develop you right hand picking technique.
- You will learn guitar scales and melodic playing.
- You will learn basic song playing and accompaniment patterns.
- I will teach you basic guitar riff patterns.
- I will teach you the about the parts of a guitar and what they do.
About Me?
I have been playing the guitar for 29 years. I think learning to play an instrument is rewarding, great fun and is an activity that can be carried on throughout your life. I am a member of the registry of guitar tutors.
My aim is to teach in a way that means students efforts are rewarded quickly, in no time at all you will be playing recognisable tunes. This doesn’t mean skimping on technique, good techniques are the building blocks on which more advanced playing is built. My guitar teaching is always adapted to suit each individual student to help them reach their own goals.
Where?
Lessons are given by me in the comfort of your own home. All we need is a place we can sit together. I give lessons in Chesterfield Derbyshire. (This may seem like a funny thing to include but I’m allergic to cats and dogs and so I don’t visit cat and dog owners for lessons).
How Much?
£10 for a 30 minute lesson.
£20 for an hour lesson.
