How to use the controls on your guitar.

A telecaster guitar is a good one to look at as it only has the basic controls you need on an electric guitar.

Volume control; this lets you adjust the output from your guitar so it sounds louder or quieter.

Tone Control; this makes your guitar sound have a more trebelie sound or a more bassie sound.  You adjust it to get the correct sound for the song you are playing.

Pickup selector; on a telecaster style guitar the pickup selector is a three way switch. When pushed forward the pickup nearest the  neck of the guitar is on. When pulled all the way back the pickup nearest the bridge is on. If the pickup selector is in the middle then both pickups are on. Try them out to see which gives you the sound you are looking for.

See the video below to hear them in action.
